About

Our Story

Attorney Alan S. Greene practiced law beginning in 1978, a graduate of UMass, Amherst and Suffolk Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1985 he moved from Somersworth, New Hampshire to Dover and his practice was located at the Upper Square of downtown Dover; later, he moved the practice to the Strafford Bank building at the lower square.

Alan's practice included estate planning, bankruptcies, criminal defense, family law (including complex custody matters and fault based divorce), probate, personal injury, as well as the incidental matters that trouble clients - things that are not the legal issue itself but inextricably tied to those issues. He enjoyed when people called him counselor, which he thought the most apt description of his work - to counsel people, not simply represent them in court.

In 2010, Attorney David J. Greene joined the firm; in 2011 Alan and David formed Greene and Greene, PLLC. Attorney Alan S. Greene passed away at the end of December 2021. David represents clients in matters relating to family law, personal injury, domestic violence, intellectual property, trademark prosecution, and the incidental matters that Alan had prided himself upon.

Greene and Greene, PLLC is located at 45 Middle Road, Dover, New Hampshire 03820 - across the street from Langdon Place.
